WHY UTILITIES, MUNICIPAILITIES, AND CONTRACTORS
CHOOSE RING POWER FOR UTILITY EQUIPMENT
From engineering to support, here’s what sets our trucks — and our team — apart.
Built for Utility Work — Not Just Built to Sell
There are a lot of things customers assume every truck provider does — but we’ve found that’s rarely the case. That’s why we obsess over the basics. From chassis selection to small material choices, every decision we make is about delivering a truck that’s ready to go to work on Day One.
The Right Partnerships
We work with manufacturers that deliver consistent performance in the field — like Terex, whose aerial components offer some of the best operator experience and value in the industry. That same philosophy extends across the board: Freightliner, Peterbilt, Dakota Bodies, and beyond. Every partner is chosen for one reason — reliability.
Properly Powered and Purpose-Built
Not all trucks are built to the same spec — even when they carry the same name. Take the TC55, for example. The aerial device may be consistent, but the chassis, engine, control system, and supporting components can vary significantly depending on who builds it.
At Ring Power, we don’t just mount a boom on a chassis and call it a day. We engineer the full package — with performance, longevity, and operator experience in mind.
- Every unit is properly powered. We spec engines and drivetrains to match the actual job demands — not to hit a low bid price.
- Our Terex digger derricks include dual hydraulic cylinders standard. That means if one cylinder fails in the field, you can still safely stow the boom and return to service.
- We deliver full-hydraulic control systems, not electric-over-hydraulic. The difference in smoothness, precision, and operator confidence is immediate — and it’s something experienced crews notice right away.
You might not see these differences on paper, but you’ll feel them on the job. We don’t build to minimums — we build to perform.
Tools That Matter
- Every C4047 comes with a pole rack — no upcharge.
- Our C4047 4x4s come standard with a 20,000 lb. front bumper winch, equipped with a side-mounted stub for attaching a capstan or butterfly reel (not included). This setup is ideal for underground wire pulls and can also assist in vehicle recovery.
If it helps you get the job done, we make it standard.
Cat A Certified — Not Just Cat A Ready
Our trucks are bare-hand certified before they ever leave the yard. That means
- Full dielectric testing
- Corona rings and Von meters included
- No need to send the truck out for certification — it’s ready when it arrives
Most dealers stop at "Cat A Ready." We deliver the real thing.
Quality Control You Can See
We sweat the small stuff:
- Proper hose routing
- Non-slip material where it matters
- Best-in-class components, installed the right way
You’re also invited to visit our Jacksonville, FL production facility to view your truck during assembly. We conduct pre-paint inspections and post-delivery walkthroughs — because we want you to see what you're getting.
No “Make It Work” Builds
Every chassis we order is spec’d with the final build in mind — period. Our engineers are involved from the very first drawings. That means:
- No retrofitting
- No forced modifications
- No compromises
Developing Innovative Solutions — Then Making Them Standard
We don’t just respond to customer needs — we build solutions that redefine what’s possible. Then we make those solutions the new standard.
How It Started
In 2015, following an equipment failure,
Florida Power & Light
challenged us to develop a transmission bucket truck with a 1,000 lb. capacity.
We worked directly with
Terex to engineer the first 1,100 lb. transmission bucket — and paired it with the first-in-industry
Load Monitoring and Crash Mitigation System
. We also introduced the first
galvanized boom
to the market.
The result? Safer equipment, better performance — and a long-term partnership with FPL.
We were proud to receive FPL’s Innovation Award in 2016 for that project. But more importantly, it set the tone for how we do business today.
Real Examples of Innovation
- TM125 Safety Railings: Developed for a major utility, then made standard on all TM125 units.
- Three Emergency Stops on the TM125: Upper, lower, and tailshelf locations — built in for crew safety.
- Capstan-Ready Bumper Winch: Engineered to simplify line pulling in the field.
These aren’t one-offs. This is how we operate.
